Application
They swell on contact with water to form a solid, heavy barrier that quickly dams and diverts flood water

- Bags made of polypropylene and filler made of super-absorbent polymer (SAP)
Advantage
- These 66 cm-long bags can be used in place of sandbags. Stack the bags to create a retaining wall in areas at risk of flooding
- Lightweight, compact and easy to handle before being activated, unlike standard sandbags which are heavy, messy and labour-intensive
- Can be stacked in up to three staggered layers. Higher retaining walls can also be created by using a pyramid configuration
